People’s Park

On any given weekend you will find a plethora of couples draped across each other in every bush, under every tree, and on every bench in the park. It’s ridiculous. If you are traveling with children they will be the center of attention. The Myanmar people have an affinity for children. Some will ask if they can take pictures of your kids and some will do it without asking permission. This goes doubly so if your children are younger than 5 years old and have either red or blonde hair.

The playground equipment in the park is quite dodgy and you would be advised to be current on your tetanus shots before using the equipment.

Located on U wisersa Road (Opposite West Gate of Shwedagon Pagoda).

the park is open from 7 am until 7 pm and entry fee is 300 Kyats per person.
